Related Arts Education
We are dedicated to, and understand the importance of a well-rounded education for all our students. Therefore, we support the continued efforts of our related arts educators to keep music, art, physical education, world languages, and library as a part of our elementary, middle, and high school curricula. We will continue to fight so that these content areas are maintained or increased, and the quality and quantity of course offerings should not diminish.
All students need health and physical education.
All students need art and music. But, an educational delivery model of six-day rotations where art and music teachers see 250-600 students per rotation is insane.
All schools need a full-time librarian. Librarians are teachers who know how to create a culture for learning through literacy and enriching opportunities for classroom teachers and their students.
All schools need world language offerings. The brains of bilingual people operate differently. Learning a second language makes you smarter, improves multi-tasking, improves problem-solving skills, improves decision-making, and improves memory.
